"I was running" -forest gump

Lately, I have been running up a storm...and learning a lot from it. I truly believe it is a sport that you must respect or it will kick your ass in the long run. Each run teaches me something new...some cheesey,-some not-so-much but all true!Here are some thoughts i have had while running...or/and things I have learned...

* I've learned the hard way- to always be prepared
* It's always great having someone at the end of the race to congratulate you but there is nothing better than your own personal "I did it"
* ice works
* learned to love Miley Cirus'- The Climb...especially when hitting a hill or having the option to cut my run short (by taking a short cut!)...great song to put about 5 miles in to your run!
* always stretch..even if its not cool
* Get passed the first 4 miles and the rest kind of fly by...(no never thought I would say that!)
* I've learned that I would much rather run outside than in the gym
* In the end...its really only your OWN fault if you didn't get out there and run
* Don't take short-cuts
* love the 'running hello'...kind of like boaters when passing eachother...a mutual nod, wave and smile...
* Learned that i SHOULD NOT run down to short beach first and have to run back up for the second 4 miles of an 8 mile run! How did I not realize that was all hill???
* Sign up for races way before to keep the incentive...
* Enjoy it...or you won't keep it up!
* I seem to be a destination runner...love getting to a "place"...
* If you can..don't pop a blister, wrap it-gauze it...and all will be okay!
* Stop with pain...the road will still be there tomorrow.
* If you get hot, drop it...that will always be there tomorrow too lol. Its been a family outing to go pick up my jackets or shirts left on a run..."everyone look for mommy's black vest"

Are you seriously dropping clothing all over LI?! Too funny!!!!! I would never trust that it would still be there -- this is so hysterical to me -- especially the family outing looking for mommy's jogging clothes afterward!!!

I so much would like to be like you when I grow up! (I can't run around the block).
Your list is too funny. And The Climb song? I hate to admit it, but I really like it, too. Especially when I reach that last step in my house, on the way to my bedroom).

lol ...I can't stop laughing because I didn't find the list so odd until I read your comments lol...
Marie- Yes and when Scott reads the blog he may add some detail I am sure. I am still learning how I like to dress on a run and becoming more confident that I WON"T freeze to death by the 3rd mile lol.
Dina way too funny! I believe I read on your blog that you were going to try to run/walk around your block soon?You can listen to the climb then lol.

we're both doing all this running but not together...let's change that. Did you sign up for the race?

Would LOVE to run with you! How about this weekend? I have 8 miles...what are you doing? I could possibly do 9 if you have to do that!
