Okay so Brooke is in the naughty corner as we speak. She just tried to push me because I tried to stop her from harassing her sleeping brother (normal behavior for a two year old i think). What I need help with is trying to get her to take the naps she so adamently tries to refuse. I understand that some kids grow out of them...BUT she is SOOOO tired and miserable by 4 that it is driving us all crazy. I will try anything so any other tidbits besides...
1. using a "prize item" for when she wakes up from a nap...
2. giving a treat to take a nap
3. playing music
4. giving her a doll to sleep with
5. letting her read her books before she naps
6. driving in the car (she dosn't transfer wll so i would have to be in the car for hours-
7. ????
Please! She fights it like no other- and severly needs it!

No help here. Eva just gave up her nap. Hours between 3 pm and 7 pm are not pretty here. If I'm home with her in the afternoon I make her sit in the living room and watch the wizard of oz (her favorite movie). Sometimes she falls asleep watching it. Sometimes she just relaxes and vege's for an hour or so. Either way she gets downtime.
With one of mine, I used to put her in MY bed (Mama's nice big comfy bed) and I would lie down with her and snuggle. Soon she was asleep and would sleep for hours. (Following you from Marie's at More Cheese)
Chrissy- yes I do give her downtime (in the crib actually) but she is in need of sleep. I swear she is waking up tired! I think she may just need to be given a sedative (obvioulsy kidding?)
Dina- welcome! I did try that at one point(with the fear of her wanting to forever go in mommy's bed)but all she did was try and jump on it like a trampoline..
keep the suggestions coming!
I don't have kids... but I would try really tiring her out in the morning... take her for a walk, go on the swings, etc and maybe she'll take a nap? (I know that's more work for you and you also have to watch Lucas... so logistically not sure how that would work). OR, I'd go with Chrissy and put a movie on for her or the Baby Einstein stuff... that puts me to sleep!
Good luck.
OR- you can make it a game, like who ever could be the quietest gets to feed Lucas... something silly like that. Yes? No? Should I never be a mommy? haha
A nice glass of red wine always works for me.
