Figure it out yet? Probably not, unless you are in the world or have been in the world of 2-3 year olds. We are now entering the zone of the Big Girl Bed. Buyer beware...
New Owners of a Big Girl Bed will:
*feel like they have a newborn that is waking every 15 minutes
* jump from bed hearing the pitter-patter of feet thinking you have a huge mouse on your hands...oh wait...I forgot the BGB...
*have to lock everything at night- bathroom doors, your door, the stairway just in case said little girl decides to go wandering.
*worry about little girl falling out of BGB (yes we have bumpers..but these little girls (and boys) can accomplish miraculous things
*ultimately become sentimental remembering and feeling like it was just the other day that you were setting up the crib
I'll take pictures and post as soon as I take them and as soon as I go to target and buy BGB princess sheets. Let the fun begin!

So did she sleep in the big girl bed yet? how did it go?
Well, the bed looks great! The safety bar is up so that our little darling doesn't roll out of the bed and onto the floor.
And the princess sheets aren't even on yet......that'll come tonight as long as Brooke is a good girl for Mommy today.
I think Brooke will do fine......it's Daddy that I'm worried about. I have to understand a bit more how much of a change is it for her to actually have all that freedom in knowing that she can get down and head to her books, her dolls, and then of course, to our room.......lol
I had a rough time settling her down, but thank goodness for Mommy. I needed a break, so I went downstairs, got a drink. Next thing I knew Annette was downstairs and I didn't hear a peep. I went back upstairs 15 minutes later and our lil' Angel was fast asleep. Fortunately, Mommy explained how hard the transition from crib to BGB will be and I guess Brooke understood. Either that or she was just exhausted......
I checked on her several more times and she looked as precious as ever. I love you Sweetheart!
You're such a big girl and I'm so proud of you!!!!
scott you crack me up using my blog like a little journal lol...love it!
Love scotts "addition" to the blog...
BGB is a constant battle my house as well. Eva wont even sleep in hers. She prefers to sleep in the guest room, on the elmo bed, in the hallway, anywhere but in BGB. What to do what to do. Trying all kinds of stuff= night light, cds/soft music, books, etc... all trying to avoid locking the door... not sure where we will end up. She slept in there so well for the last year and then all of a sudden she decided she wasnt having it...can't figure out why.
You guys are killing me. I thought all my sleep issues would be solved once the boy turns 6 months. Now you're telling me you're sleep training again at THREE YEARS OLD????
Sigh. I'm never going to sleep again, am I? NEVER.
P.S. I bet she is adorable in it, though. :)
