From my desk...to yours

I have been working everyday in my classroom to get it to where I can teach without distraction. One of the things that I always like to do is to keep some inspirational quotes or passages on my desk so that each day I get 'reminded' of what its all about and why I love to teach. They are not just 'teacher' quotes but life quotes that I will sometimes share with the students...I'll post a few of my favorites in the next few days.

Life's Philosophy...
Don't undermine your worth by comparing yourself to others
for it is because we are different
that each one of us is special (Huge first month and ongoing lesson)

Don't set your goals by what other people deem important;
only you know what is best for you

Don't take for granted the things closest to your heart,
cling to them as you would your life, for without them, life has no meaning.

Don't let your life slip through your fingers by living in the past or for the future. By living in the present, and living one day at a time, you will live all the days of your life.

Don't give up when you still have something to give, nothing is over until the moment you stop trying. (HUGE LESSON IN MY CLASSROOM)

Don't be afraid to admit that you are less than perfect,
but never settle for second best.

Don't be afraid to encounter risks,
for it is by taking chances that we learn how to be brave.

Don't shut love out of your life by saying that it is impossible to find.
The quickest way to receive love--is to give love.
The fastest way to lose love-- is to hold it too tightly.
The best way to keep love-- is to give it wings.

Do not fear being alone. We are NEVER truly alone,
if we simply open our hearts and let people in.

Never hide in your fantasies-
Love is real, and to find it, you need not search far.

Don't dismiss your dreams.
To be without dreams is to be without hope.
To be without hope, is to be without purpose.

Don't run through life so fast that you foreget not only where you have been,
but also where you are going.

Life is not a race,
yet we will not live forever.
Life is a journey to be savored each step of the way.

Thanks for sharing! I love this one: "Nothing is over until the moment you stop trying." Such a good way to phrase an idea that I always try to keep in the back of my head.
