Oh wow! I've never known you as not a blonde! I have to agree that it really compliments your complexion (so jealous of your skin!), and I think it brings out your eyes -- they look really green!
But I also think you look really pretty as a blonde. You can have it both ways, you lucky girl! (Can you imagine me or Maria with blonde highlights?! LOL....) Stick with the brunette for fall/winter, and then lighten up again in the spring when you start feeling that need for a change. :)
