Whispering Sweet Nothings...

I took Lucas and Brooke to the doctor for a well visit today. This is a task that I normally like to take on with Scott but he had work and we needed to get the shots before Brooke starts her preschool class. Lucas received (not willingly) his first round of shots. There is nothing like that helpless feeling you get in the pit of your stomach when the doctor puts the needle in and your child is screaming. Lucas gave the dr. the worst look, opened his mouth in preparation to take a deep breath of air and then let loose! Next was Brooke. I had to sit down and hold (restrain) her in my lap. She was not happy about this and seconds later joined her brother in a beautiful screaming duet. Sounds really hectic and stressful right?...Oddly the next thing that happened was so precious that made the stress and pain of the shot (well for me) all worth it. Brooke leans over to Lucas after I put him in the car seat and says "It's okay my baby brother I got one too. You are going to be all bettter- I will help you"...tear, tear...pulling at mommy's heartstrings!
